    Hobby Challenge

    14:00 -21:00
    27/05/20-25/07/20
    Mountain Gremlin Games
    1 The Square, Castlebridge, Y36 K188

A personal challenge following your own hobby goals. Bypassing obstacles to getting your forces on the table, following from the force lists and plans via unmade models to the gaming table. The challenge will be used as a journal of accomplishments along the way. While there will be a regular bonus the prize is having your own hobby goals realised.

Below is a list of everything you need to do to participate in the event. Registration is from Sunday 24th until Sunday 31st of May.  To register you need to contact the store and explain your goal.  The challenge ends on July 25th.

    Goal

This is largely personal but must be registered at the start. Of course this will require you to paint miniatures of some kind and eventually play them. Viable ideas are:

    • Complete enough figures in a particular force so they can be played in a regular game.

    For Example

I have less than 1000points of Kings of War Dwarves that is assembled and unpainted. I need them all painted to demo Kings of War in the store.

    • Expand an existing force to a certain value.

eg: I have a painted Army of Rogue Trader force of Space Marines of 1000points. This will be expanded to 1500 so I can have larger games, or smaller games with different miniatures.

    • Complete all the miniatures in a board game.

eg: The next time I play Zombicide: Black Plague it will be with a fully painted set of miniatures.

Finish a “tables worth” of terrain to a particular theme.

eg: I have a 6 x 4 gaming table and a number of unpainted laser cut buildings. The next game played on the table will be fought over a fully painted medieval village.

The above list of ideas are by no means complete and may not represent the broad nature of the hobby.  Please get in touch if you have an idea that fits with the spirit of the competition.

    Show Progression

This every week the store runs Work in Progress Wednesday on the store Facebook page. To keep in the competition you a need to post your progress on the page, every Wednesday. It doesn’t matter if you have not done tons of work – progress is still progress. In order to maintain momentum and support your fellow hobbyists – use the like button for other participants work too. Hobby group posting can be a little more casual, and you can use that to bounce ideas off of each other.  Of course you are encouraged to post in the hobby group too.

    End

The final part of the project you must do one of the following.  By the advertised end date.

    • Turn up and play in store with your completed project.
    • send a game report with pictures
    • a video of the game in progress.

    Prizes

At regular intervals a number of bonuses will be offered to participants on an entirely arbitrary basis.
